Laser Spine Institute Surgery
Our goal at Laser Spine Institute is to help each and every patient rediscover a life without back or neck pain and help them get back to doing the things they love. Utilizing revolutionary endoscopic technology, the exceptionally skilled surgeons at Laser Spine Institute perform laser spine surgery to address a number of conditions, including bulging disc, foraminal stenosis, spinal arthritis, degenerative disc disease, and more spinal conditions.
Although it requires highly trained doctors and specialized equipment, the actual process of performing laser spine surgery is easy to understand. Here's how it works:
- IV sedation and local anesthesia is administered.
- Once you're relaxed, our surgeons make a small incision into which they insert a tiny Depuy tube.
- Surgeons gently slip a slightly larger-sized tube over the original one, and continue the process to slowly make room by nudging muscle aside and avoiding bone. The final tube is just 18mm diameter.
- Then, the surgeons insert tools such as irrigation, suction, and the laser, as well as a small camera. This camera allows the surgeon to see the offending tissue in high definition so they can effectively treat it.
- Once they are finished removing the tissue or deadening the nerve causing pain, surgeons remove the tools and camera, and if necessary stitch the incision closed.
- You relax at our facility for 1-2 hours for observation while your companion enjoys our amenities.
- After that observation time, you may go rest and recuperate at your hotel or home. After a post-operative exam the next day, you're released from Laser Spine Institute.
